Important Facts to Know about Lipitor

Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc, an Indian company that makes generic and cheap Lipitor, issued a recall on a generic version of Lipitor in November 2013, after they discovered that some of their Lipitor tablets are laced with tiny pieces of glass. The recall covers 10 mg, 20 mg, and 40 mg dosages, but doesn’t cover 80 mg atorvastatin tablets. Ranbaxy will stop production of these drugs “until it has thoroughly investigated the cause of the glass particulates and remedied the problem,” says the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Lipitor is a popular cholesterol lowering medicine used by hundreds and thousands of Americans. In fact, it is the fifth most popular medicine in the country. According to a report published in The Wall Street Journal, around 44 percent of Lipitor and its generic versions available in the US market are manufactured by Ranbaxy. Not to mention, the current ban on Lipitor may cause a shortage of these drugs in the market. However, one can still buy Lipitor from online pharmacies like Canadian Pharmacy or any other international pharmacy. Read on this article to know some important facts about this medicine.

According to Dr Edward Boyer of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, “Eating a pill that contains numerous particles of glass a millimeter in size or less is akin to eating a pill that contains small bits of sand in it.” And thus, “This is not truly a threat to people's health.”

Moreover, according to the FDA, there had been no report of health problems due to consumption of Lipitor, as of December 2013. The FDA has taken steps to deal with the potential shortage of these widely used cholesterol lowering medicines. According to FDA spokeswoman Sarah Clark-Lynn, “The FDA is currently working with the other manufacturers to address any potential shortage as a result of the ongoing recall.”
The FDA also said, “Consumers who are concerned that they may have received a recalled product should consult with their pharmacist where they bought the product to confirm whether they received a recalled product, should stop taking the product if it was recalled, and should consult with their pharmacist or physician about how to obtain an alternative product.” Here are some more things to know about Lipitor.

Side Effects

Lipitor works on liver to limit the amount of cholesterol produced in human body. As such, it is quite usual to suffer some side effects due to regular use of Lipitor. However, it is important for you to identify which side effects are more harmful, and should be reported to your doctor. Some common side effects of Lipitor include headache, loss of appetite, diarrhea, muscle pain, and infections. While these some common side effects, some serious side effects include severe stomach pain, prolonged fatigue, whitening of eyes, and dark urination. These are telltale signs that your body is responding negatively. So, you should consult your doctor immediately.

Whether you buy Lipitor from Canadian pharmacy or any other international pharmacy, you should take these medicines under the advice of qualified doctors.

Music you hear from the 1970s on the radio - that has a tendency to be the same old top ten tunes they've been playing on the radio for decades. It seems that only one or two songs by any artist from the 1950s - 1990s will get played.

Obscure 70s is a web site that looks at LPs and singles that may not have made the top of the charts - but they were wonderful none the less.
